In one month and one day I turn 29. Big woop, right?

My own mortality is staring down a double-barrelled shotgun at me. That's how it feels, at least.

Unmarried. Not yet a parent. Major milestones many of my peers have passed I'm still looking for in the distance. But that's not to say I'm unhappy or ungrateful.

I'm a homeowner and I have been for several years. I (knock on wood) have a steady job and have been employed by the same company for over six years. I owe nothing on my car. And I'm an aunt to the sweetest girl in the world. So I've got some good things going on.

As I dive into the big 2-9 (criminy, after that I'm 30...), I do realize what's important. First things first: my family. To know them is to love them. They are the funniest, most loving and caring folks you will ever meet.

And then there's the love of my life. He celebrates his birthday three days after I do, so I won't be white-knuckling through the last year of my 20s by my lonesome.

So it is here that I announce that I have decided to chronicle my last year of my twenties. Because after I turn 30, I may as well start buying granny panties and Ben-Gay. Trade in my camera for bifocals.

Put on your excited faces because this project will start April 4. It's going to be one of those a photo a day sort of thing.
